A new Call of Duty game is out, and it has a confusing name
If you're a big fan, you remember the legendary Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Just to make things confusing, the franchise is dropping a new installment with a funny name. It's called—wait for it—Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. It's grim, morally ambiguous, and comes out on October 25.
Apple's WWDC conference is coming
On Monday, Apple will kick off one of its most hyped events of the year: the Worldwide Development Conference. What should you expect? Probably a new iOS update that might include a newly designed home screen, dark mode, and updated Messages. We could also see an update to Watch OS and the release of "Marzipan," the codename for Apple's years-long project of porting iOS apps to the Mac.
New York is ready to ditch the MetroCard
Starting today, New York enters the 21st century of transportation and allows New Yorkers to ditch their flimsy MetroCards in favor of their smartphones. New contactless readers will allow riders to pay just by holding a phone or smartwatch near the turnstile. The program kicked off at 16 subway stations and Staten Island buses with an MTA-wide rollout by late 2020.

Most of these algorithms feed you options based on what other people think—marginalizing some profiles and boosting others. Because these algorithms reinforce majority opinion, they tend to promote racial inequality and put minorities at a significant disadvantage.
